Blake Johnston Worlds Longest Surf

Blake Johnston has broken the world record for the longest surfing session, riding waves for over 40 hours straight. The former pro surfer and distance runner braved the risk of blindness, sleep deprivation, hypothermia, shark attacks, and jellyfish stings to raise money for mental health awareness. With spotlights illuminating a section of Cronulla’s surf known as “The Alley”, Johnston rode over 700 waves for 40 hours, breaking the previous record of 30 hours and 11 minutes held by South African Josh Enslin. His effort raised over A$400,000 for the Chumpy Pullin Foundation. Johnston emerged exhausted but with a world record to his name, draped in a thermal blanket and wearing a black cowboy hat. Ray White Sutherland Shire were proud to be the major sponsors of this incredible event and congratulate Blake on breaking the world record in support of mental health.
